Induction

The CMT Medical Workforce Team organised a series of induction evenings throughout August which were designed to provide all newly recruited CMT trainees with invaluable tools to assist you with your progress through Core Medical Training. Each event was be attended by the School of Medicine Workforce Team, Graeme Dewhurst (Head of School), the Training Programme Director’s, College Tutors and Trainee Reps, and enabled trainees to meet the team and fellow colleagues, as well as ask any questions about the Core Medical Training programme.

Each of the evenings included presentations on topics such as Eportfolio, ARCP’s, Regional Training Days, the Curriculum, and Flexible Training options, to name a few. All trainees received an induction pack which outlined trainees keys responsibilities, requirements for ARCP, study leave options and other valuable guidance.

One of the most well received presentations was given by a trainee who recently completed her CMT training. Dr Lucy Abbott (one of our CT2 reps) gave helpful hints for trainees on  ‘How To Survive CMT’ and as such, her presentation is attached below to aid all trainees in managing their time and workload throughout their training.

If you were unable to attend these inductions and have not already been contacted by a member of the Medical Workforce team in order to issue you with an Induction Handbook, please contact any one of the team on the below contact details and one will be sent to you promptly cmt@kssdeanery.ac.uk.
