Accreditation for Prior and Experiential Learning (APEL) for QESP Background At the KSS Deanery, we recognise that the educational experience and qualifications of our consultants is wide and varied; indeed, this diversity will be a valuable asset to your colleagues on the Qualified Educational Supervisors Programme. Due to the work-based nature of our programme we are able to consider, on a case-by-case basis, APEL applications as a direct substitute for completing all or part of QESP if prior and experiential learning meets the criteria Evidence Required Candidates who wish to apply for APEL are required to: a. Complete the APEL application form b. Provide evidence to support the details in your application i.e. copies of observation records, certificates etc. c. Sign the application to certify that the information you have provided on this Application Form is a true and accurate record.

One and a half days in total of workshops on: - principles and values in teaching and learning, - supervising, including an introduction to careers advice and trainees in difficulty, taught by an appropriately qualified and experienced educationist Observation of work-based educational practices in clinical settings followed by feedback
Observation by an appropriately qualified person (which would include university departments of teacher education, but may not include private training organisations); i.e. by a recognised learning provider Appropriate supporting documentation (i.e. a recognised certificate), which includes the equivalent of the Qualified Educational Supervisors Programme observation record and record of professional conversation.
