Induction

Last year we held our annual induction for all our new & current ICM trainees on the 11th August 2010 at our London Bridge offices. However; due to the various start dates of our ICM trainees this year we will not hold an induction day instead we offer the following:

• a face to face meeting with your programme director. at the beginning of your training
• a career development day - which allows us to put names to new faces but also to introduce ourselves to the new intake, so that they could meet in person some of the people who will be supporting you  in different ways during your training.
• KSS ICM induction pack which includes your Guide and Educational Training Record (portfolio) with Appendices and CD
• an Annual Review of Competence Progression after your Intermediate Training and a further ARCP before you complete your Advanced Training.

Amongst the topics covered within your Induction pack are the following

• Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine curriculum (including number of Work Based Assessments, End of Attachment Report and logbook requirements for 2011)
• an introduction to the deanery and ICM STC and an introduction to both the facilities you can avail yourselves of (e.g. reference libraries, training days) and the support you have (Educational/Clinical Supervisors, Tutors, the Training Programme Director and of course us, the ICM STC Workforce Team at KSS Deanery) during the programme.
