Message from the KSS Lead for Obstetrics and Gynaecology
The KSS Specialty Committee commenced at the end of last year in line with the recommendations of MMC. Throughout the UK these new Schools and Committees are being set up to run the new Specialty Training for Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The School and Committee Leads are jointly appointed by the RCOG and the local Deaneries and will be responsible for all O&G training from ST1 - ST7. The KSS Committee is, at the moment supervising core trainees (ST1-2) but has a vision to supervise all specialty training (ST1 - ST7) in the future. The KSS Committee and London School work very closely together to harmonise training.
Working jointly with the London South STC component of London Specialty School we have about 80 trainees at ST1 and ST2 with about 35 trainees within KSS Hospitals. The next round of recruitment is run through the RCOG with London and KSS being a single unit of application. Please refer to our recruitment pages for further information.
With Diana Hamilton-Fairley, Head of the London School for Obstetrics and Gynaecology we are taking a single unified approach to the ARCP progress to ensure that all trainees whether they are working within a KSS Hospital or a London Hospital undergo the same assessment process.
Thank you
