Professor Zoë Playdon Head of Education Zoë was educated at the universities of Newcastle upon Tyne, Leicester, Warwick and at Henley Management College, and began her career as an English teacher in an inner-city comprehensive school. Formerly a National Coordinator at the Department of Education and Science, she moved to become head of Continuing Vocational Education and Chief Executive of the University of Warwick’s business consortium, before joining the Deanery as Regional Education Adviser in 1993. |

Dr Clare Penlington Deputy Head of Education Clare is the Deputy Head of the Education department at the KSS Deanery, and the Academic Head of the School of Clinical Leadership. |

Dr Elaine Hawkins Assistant Dean Education Elaine leads a number of projects in the Education Department including Co-mentoring for new consultants and Working with Patients with Learning Disabilities. She also contributes to the MA in Clinical Education, Curriculum Mapping and the ‘Improving your teaching’ programme for core surgical and medical trainees. My educational approach is informed by thirty years’ experience of teaching and academic leadership/management of learning and teaching in a wide variety of adult and higher education settings. |

Dr Rachel Robinson Assistant Dean Education Rachel started her career as a teacher of English, and taught for 12 years in inner-city state comprehensives in the West Midlands and in East London. She has extensive experience of working with teachers in state primary and secondary schools, in order to support their professional development. She has worked as an advisory teacher, a University Lecturer in teacher education, a National Oracy Project Officer and Co-ordinator for the LINC (Language in the National Curriculum) Project in Inner London. |

Victoria Brook Assistant Dean Education Victoria works on a number of projects within the Education department including Supporting Trainees in Difficulty, Co-mentoring for new consultants, and the ‘Improving your teaching’ programme for core surgical and medical trainees. Victoria contributes to the MA in Clinical Education. |
