Being in a Specialty Post: Inductions
At the beginning of a training programme each specialty school provides trainees with an induction booklet which contains key information about:
1) the role of the relevant specialty school, and the role of KSS Deanery;
2) key contacts and committees within the specialty school;
3) arrangements and responsibilities for educational and clinical supervision;
4) details of the assessment methods used, for example CBDs DOPS etc.;
5) portfolio, development plan and other formative assessment requirements;
6) the facilities and resources available through the relevant Royal College and other on-line resources;
7) deadlines and timelines within the training programme;
8) arrangements for the Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP) / RITA;
9) information about what to do in case of absence;
10) information about the annual GMC survey;
11) Royal College examination information;
12) sources of support available to trainees.
